I hate the tracklist order so I changed it and replaced some songs... Here's my review of AIM
1.Borders: I loved this song since the first listen, It's a great track to start the album 8.9 / 10
2.Fly Pirates: Nice song, the bubbles and the police siren sound effects are fucking perfect! Idk why but it reminds me of Illygirl.. 8.6 / 10
3. Go Off: It's a good song but not the best one from the album, it's really commercial and I never expected something like this from M.I.A. But I like it, the "Baba Telephone" sample is great 7.5 / 10
4. Foreign Friend: I really like this one because of the lyrics, plus Dexta Daps's voice is on point 9.4 / 10
5. Finally: the most positive song of the album. When I first listened to it I thought it was horrible because it sounded like a demo, but now I really love it; it's a soft track to listen before an "aggresive" one like All My People, just like XXXO and Teqkilla 8.2 / 10
6. All My People: here starts the best part of AIM I loved the Skrillex production and I honestly don't care if it's not the original thavil version. It's one of my favorite songs of the album! 10 / 10
7. Ali R U Ok?: God bless Richard X This track it's just perfect; M.I.A.'s voice, the production, the lyrics... When she says "Ali I haven’t even seen you since we left Calais", FUCK YES! 9.8 / 10
8. Ola: I had to replace Visa with Ola (soundcloud version) because the Lion's King sample and the "I'm a bandit" outro are essential to the song, I just removed the Foreign Friend part. AMP, Ali R U Ok?, and Ola, are the Holy Trinity of the album. 9 / 10
9. Talk: Like Ola, this song gives so much brazilian vibes! Really love the sound and ofc it's produced by the Partysquad I just wish it was a bit longer 9.5 / 10
10. Swords: The sound of the swords is so hypnotic, I never get tired of it even tho it came out more than 1 year ago 9.3 / 10
11. Jump In: I replaced it with the Anoushka Shankar's version because of the sitar & because it's longer. I think it's good to have a track that calms you down after listening to all those bangers (AMP, Ali R U Ok, Ola, Talk, Swords) LOL I love to smoke weed while listening to this 9.3 / 10
12. Bird Song: It's the Blaqstarr's one bc I hate Diplo's... This song it's a great closer of the album, but I would like to replace it with the drums version when it comes out :( 9.8 / 10
FINAL REVIEW - 8.4 / 10
AIM it's a pretty solid album, the concept it's crazy and I'm so happy she's free after this so she'll do whatever she wants. I think it's her "worst" album, but it doesn't mean that I hate it, I really loved it. It's just not good like her other works... I'm really happy it came out!
